Wine & Extra-Virgin Oil Tasting
Guests at the Relais Borgo Torale can book themselves a guided wine tasting tour of Umbria’s top wineries, as well as extra virgin olive oil tasting sessions at some of the major producers of olive oil in the region.
The Staff of Borgo Torale is more than willing to organise tours of some of the most acclaimed D.O.C., D.O.C.G. and I.G.T. vineyards from November to December, as well as visits to the region’s producers of the celebrated D.O.P. olive oil.
Among the wines guests will be tasting are Orvieto Classico, Torgiano Lungarotti and the Sagrantino di Montefalco, as well as Bianco dei Colli di Assisi and Bianco Colli del Trasimeno. The Rosso del Lago di Corbara is also one of the region’s wines to have obtained considerable critical acclaim in recent years. It is produced at the Castello di Corbara and the Decugnano dei Barbi wineries.
Given that the Relais Borgo Torale is strategically placed near Tuscany, the staff is also able to organise a number of tours to Tuscan wineries, that produce established classics such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico and Nobile di Montepulciano.
November and December are the ideal months during which to visit the many olive oil producers scattered throughout the area, that all produce the world renowned D.O.P. dell'Umbria olive oil.
