Cittā della Pieve is Perugino's birthplace. He was the Divine
painter. A famous fresco is on the wall behind the altar of
Oratorio Santa Maria dei Bianchi. This fresco of the Adoration
of the Magi was completed in 1504. Chiesa dei Servi contains the
frescoes Deposizione dalla croce and Compianto sul Cristo morto.
Both frescoes adorn the walls of the ancient chapel dedicated to
Maria della Stella. Santa Maria degli Angeli: 3 km about from
Cittā della Pieve is a Franciscan Hermitage.
